When formal complaints arise in the workplace, there very often would have been early signs of conflict which were 'bottled up' or ignored. How do our employee dispute resolution services work?

To effectively resolve disputes in the workplace, we provide an expert practitioner to facilitate a constructive conversation. When you decide to work with CMP, we offer the fastest possible response and can have one of our dispute resolution experts on-site within 5 working days.

The dispute resolution process will commence with individual 1:1 conversations between our practitioner and your staff. This enables each party to voice their concerns, and establish a good level of trust and rapport, prior to the subsequent sessions. Each party must then give their voluntary consent to proceed with the outlined process.

Depending on the nature of the dispute and number of parties involved, joint sessions and possible group processes will then follow. These will focus on building an increased understanding between parties, using needs-based communication. Our expert dispute resolution practitioner will then guide the individuals to workable solutions as to how the relationship and behaviours can change moving forwards.

Dispute resolution for larger groups and teams

A typical group dispute resolution process will involve a few joint sessions between key individuals, and a subsequent full group intervention. The aim is to tackle more problematic relationship issues, prior to delivering a group facilitation where key interactive issues are identified and addressed. Our dispute resolution expert can then facilitate the development of new skills upon which a more resilient team may be built.

In situations where there are emerging issues within a team but it isn’t completely clear where such issues lie, a neutral assessment can be a useful first step. We provide staff members, amongst the organisation or team, with the opportunity to voice their concerns through a face-to-face or telephone interview. Written assessments may also be used to gain a wider perspective. Our practitioner will then evaluate and compile the evidence to produce an anonymous report with recommendations for future action.

Working with such an experienced and professional organisation has been incredibly refreshing and our in-house mediation service has been enhanced as a result. The ILM endorsed course was fantastic and people left feeling confident with the skills. The course content was comprehensive and the training techniques first class. CMP worked with us to discuss service development and implementation, and provided a lot of support which has helped immensely in getting this project off the ground.
